This guide explains how to import Victorian Curriculum results into the Analytics Cyclemodule.

Step need1: toCreate create a Victorian Curriculuman Analytics cycle:

  1. Go to the Analytics Administration pagepage.
  2. Click 'Add Analytics Cycle'Cycle.
  3. Select "Victorian Curriculum (2017)" as the cycle typetype.
  4. Enter youra preferred name for the cycle (e.g., "2019 Victorian Curriculum Semester 1"1).

Step 2: Get Your Victorian Curriculum File

You can retrieve the file in two ways:

Option 1: Export from yourCompass Semester Reports cycle(recommended)

in Compass (ideal if you use our Semester Reports)
    1. Navigate to Teaching and Learning menu → Semester Reports.
    2. Choose your reporting cycle and click 'Exports'Exports.
    3. Select 'Victorian Curriculum CASES21 (PRS212)'. option
      • The file will be downloaded in XML format.

    Option 2: Export from CASES21 (for Victorian public schools not using Compass for reports)

Importing the File Once you have your Victorian Curriculum file:
  1. Click 'Choose File' and selectExport the filerequired student data from your desktopCASES21.
  2. Click 'Create'
  3. Set staff visibility to "Read-Only" so staff can analyse students' results
The data will then be available for analysis in the Analytics module!
Once you have your Victorian Curriculum file exported, here's how to import it into Analytics:
Step-by-step import process:
  1. Go to the Analytics Administration page
  2. Click 'Add Analytics Cycle'
  3. Select "Victorian Curriculum (2017)" cycle type
  4. Enter your preferred name (e.g., "2019 Victorian Curriculum Semester 1")
  5. Click 'Choose File' and select the exported file from your desktop
  6. Click 'Create'
Final setup:
Once imported, set the staff visibility to "Read-Only" so staff can analyse students' Victorian Curriculum results.
The data will then be immediately available for analysis in our Analytics module! This process creates a dedicated Victorian Curriculum cycle that allows your staff to review and analyse student progression data effectively.

From Compass Semester Reports:
When you export from Teaching and Learning → Semester Reports → Exports → 'Victorian Curriculum CASES21 (PRS212)', the downloaded file will be generated in XML format.
From CASES21:
When exporting from CASES21, the system generates an XML fileformat (fore.g., example, 'VicCurricSemesterOne2017Students.XML'XML).

Step 3: Import the File into Analytics

  1. Go to the Analytics Administration page.
  2. Click Add Analytics Cycle.
  3. Select Victorian Curriculum (2017) as the cycle type.
  4. Enter your preferred name for the cycle.
  5. Click Choose File and select the exported XML file.
  6. Click Create.

Step 4: Final Setup

  1. Set Staff Visibility to Read-Only.
    • This allows staff to analyse student results without making changes.
  2. The data is now available for analysis in the Analytics module.

This process creates a dedicated Victorian Curriculum cycle, allowing staff to review and analyse student progression data effectively.
