Import results into Analytics
Creating the Analytics Cycle First, you'll need to create a Victorian Curriculum Analytics cycle:
- Go to Analytics Administration page
- Click 'Add Analytics Cycle'
- Select "Victorian Curriculum (2017)" cycle type
- Enter your preferred name (e.g., "2019 Victorian Curriculum Semester 1")
Getting Your Victorian Curriculum File You can retrieve the file in two ways:
Option 1: Export from your Semester Reports cycle in Compass (ideal if you use our Semester Reports)
Option 2: Export from CASES21 (for Victorian public schools not using Compass for reports)
Importing the File Once you have your Victorian Curriculum file:
- Click 'Choose File' and select the file from your desktop
- Click 'Create'
- Set staff visibility to "Read-Only" so staff can analyse students' results
The data will then be available for analysis in the Analytics module!
Once you have your Victorian Curriculum file exported, here's how to import it into Analytics:
Step-by-step import process:
- Go to the Analytics Administration page
- Click 'Add Analytics Cycle'
- Select "Victorian Curriculum (2017)" cycle type
- Enter your preferred name (e.g., "2019 Victorian Curriculum Semester 1")
- Click 'Choose File' and select the exported file from your desktop
- Click 'Create'
Final setup:
Once imported, set the staff visibility to "Read-Only" so staff can analyse students' Victorian Curriculum results.
The data will then be immediately available for analysis in our Analytics module! This process creates a dedicated Victorian Curriculum cycle that allows your staff to review and analyse student progression data effectively.
From Compass Semester Reports:
When you export from Teaching and Learning → Semester Reports → Exports → 'Victorian Curriculum CASES21 (PRS212)', the downloaded file will be in XML format.
From CASES21:
When exporting from CASES21, the system generates an XML file (for example, 'VicCurricSemesterOne2017Students.XML').
Important note: Don't open the XML file in Excel before importing it into Analytics, as this can corrupt the file structure and prevent it from importing correctly.
